The long awaited re-opening of the Bell is upon us. The pub has been through some tough times recently and it's great to see that the current proprietors have come up trumps. We visited on the second night and the pub was buzzing,

It's a large space and it was full, and having walked and driven past a few times since this seems to be the norm - for now. And with the prospect of food and a garden to come it all looks very hopeful. Children are welcome before 8pm and dogs are welcome as long as they're on a lead (or was it the other way around?)

Original features have been maintained including the large chimney breast at the centre which has, in the past, created a pub with a bit of a dual personality. This chimney separated a panelled area from a larger TV/pool area. With the screens and pool table now removed the pub seems integrated and more complete.

On the night we visited there were logs burning in the grate which was a nice touch on a chilly evening.

The Bell has a selection of ales (six when we were there) and the usual array of lagers. It also has a pin-ball machine, Wi-Fi, the occasional DJ set and jazz on Sundays.

All details can be seen on its website where you can comment and make suggestions blog stylee.
